Munich Fabric Start 2024: A Cloudwool Perspective
Munich Fabric Start 2024 was a celebration of textile innovation, sustainability, and creativity. At the heart of the event was Sustainable Innovations, a platform curated by Simon Angel, showcasing forward-thinking brands reimagining the textile industry.
Held at KEYHOUSE, the space highlighted extraordinary material developments from exhibitors like BIOTEXFUTURE, KNITWEAR LAB, MYCOTEX, HONESTLY HEMP, REVOLTECH, and Cloudwool. Each showcased groundbreaking ideas, from biodegradable materials made from fermented yeast and bacteria to seamless production using mushroom mycelium.
Cloudwool proudly presented its Pure Cloudwool range—natural, undyed Cloudwool fabrics entirely made sustainably in the UK. Additionally, we introduced new artisan Cloudwool developments featuring innovative prints and surface techniques. One highlight was the Grenson shoe, beautifully displayed in a sleek Perspex box, sparking conversations about its design, craftsmanship, and sustainability.
Simon Angel’s thoughtful curation emphasised the importance of circular business models, decentralized production, and comprehensive transparency in rethinking the textile value chain. His vision bridged economic viability with environmental responsibility, setting the stage for scalable, future-proof processes.
Cloudwool was honored to stand among such innovative brands, contributing to a dialogue that promises to reshape the textile landscape
