Martin Brambley, Co-Founder of Cloudwool, attended the Future Materials Conference held at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) in Budapest on November 7-8, 2024. This year’s theme, “From Advanced Craft towards Conscious Tech,” explored how traditional craftsmanship can intersect with advanced technology. The conference brought together leading experts to discuss the latest trends in sustainable materials, with presentations, workshops, and panel discussions. Martin’s presentation, “The Cloudwool Story,” highlighted the company’s innovative approach to transforming regional wool into global fashion standards. Caroline Till, Co-Founder of FranklinTill, delivered the keynote address, focusing on “Material Transformation for a Regenerative Future.” Her talk explored how rethinking our relationship with materials can lead to a more sustainable future, challenging conventional design processes and encouraging regenerative practices. The conference also featured an engaging exhibition and immersive tours of MOME’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the textile design atelier, car design studio, and fantastic wool looms. MOME’s focus on blending traditional craft with future technologies was evident throughout the event. The event also offered workshops and masterclasses on material innovation and sustainability.
